About the Keynote Speaker:
Suzette Smith grew up in rural Idaho in an LDS family with six younger sisters. She graduated from seminary in 1988, and served a mission to Melbourne, Australia in 1991. She earned her BS degree from BYU in 1994, and an MBA from Bentley University in 2002. She is currently living in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, where she owns and operates a professional organizing company.
Sister Smith has been a member of the Relief Society for nearly 30 years, and is in love with Visiting Teaching, but currently serves outside the RS, as Activity Day leader for the 9 year old boys in the Alexandria 1st Ward. She is also an Ovarian Cancer survivor; an experience that has anchored her testimony of the Savior’s grace.
Suzette loves to listen to LDS podcasts and read the personal experiences of LDS women. She writes personal essays, many of which can be found in the Exponent II Magazine. She is a single member of the church, and has an essay about her experience being single in the forthcoming book, “One by One: Mormon Singles Navigating a Marriage-Centric Church.” Any spare time she has, she spends adoring her 20 nieces and nephews, three of which live in Framingham, MA.
